Art Prize G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation 2020

Artists-in-Residence Program 2020

The love for art, as well as the deep desire for promotion, protection and projection of the free artistic expression, led the the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation to the establishment of the homonymous Art Prize.

The aim of the Prize is to support the work of Greek artists because it is one of the most dynamic, contemporary and global expressions of the creative capacities of modern Greece.
The Prize marks the thirty-year of efforts to help and strengthen the artistic leadership of the country, which still needs the appropriate visibility and assistance in a globalized artistic production environment.

The Prize supports Greek artists by offering the opportunity to create a visual work that will become part of the international permanent collection of the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation at the open museum of the Minos Beach art hotel in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. The Art Prize of the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation has the ultimate goal of promoting excellence in art and highlighting the important talents of artistic creation in Greece.
